Vic: Historic hotel faces partial demolition after fire
An historic hotel in northern Victoria faces partial demolition after a fire rippedthrough the building overnight.
Police are investigating the blaze at The Albion Hotel in Kyabram which started about5.20am (AEST).
Campaspe Shire municipal building surveyor IAN ASH says part of the 19th-century buildingwill need to be demolished.
Hotel owner BETH COLLEY has told Channel 9 she's devastated to see all her money aswell as 22 months of hard work go down the drain.
Campaspe Shire mayor MURRAY MCDONALD says the hotel was a high-profile building in the town.
Fire officer SHANE SUTTON says the blaze caused more than $1 million of damage to the hotel.
He says it's not known yet how the fire started.
