Qld: Murdered Chinese man led normal life

Police have released the name of a computer software engineer who was clubbed to death
with a wheel wrench at his home on the Gold Coast four days ago.

The man, 28-year-old XUN LI, who also used the name THOMAS LEE, was born in Shanghai,
China and moved to Australia two years ago.

Mr LI'S body was positively identified by his wife and parents who arrived on the Gold
Coast from China.

Police are seeking the assistance of Mr LI'S friends and associates in the murder investigation.

Mr LI worked as a senior software engineer at an Oxenford computer research and development
company.

Police say the motive for Mr LI'S murder is still unclear.

Mr LI was found by his female flatmate, also a Chinese national, at the bottom of a
stairway at his home in Usher Avenue, Labrador, about 10.30pm (AEST) on Tuesday.
