QLD: Granny a syringe robber
Queensland police say an elderly woman in her 70s has used a blood-filled syringe to
rob a Gold Coast store.
The woman demanded cash, cigarettes and matches from the owner of the Musgrave Avenue
Convenience Store in Southport about 5pm (AEST) yesterday.
Store owner MICHAEL O'CONOR says the woman waved the syringe around and demanded money.
She said she had a bad day on the pokies.
The woman escaped with money, cigarettes and matches but was arrested soon afterwards.
