Fed: El Nino to cause wet autumn across Australia

MELBOURNE, Feb 28 AAP - The break-up of the El Nino effect could see one of the driestsummers on record turn into a wetter-than-average autumn, weather experts predict.
But farmers and firefighters may need to keep their champagne chilled for a little longer.
While National Climate Centre climatologist Blair Trewin said the "rapidly decaying"
El Nino pattern made it an even-money bet the March-May period would bring more rain thanusual, farmers expect it will be slow to undo the effects of the drought ravaging theeastern seaboard.
