Vic: $180m overhaul of ambulance services
The Victorian government's announced a 185 million dollar overhaul of the state's ambulance
services .. forking out for two new helicopters while merging the rural and metropolitan
organisations.
Premier JOHN BRUMBY says under the four-year funding plan .. 260 extra paramedics will
be employed across the state.
New and expanded services will be funded in 48 towns and suburbs across Victoria.
One of the new medical helicopters will be based in Warrnambool .. and the other at
Melbourne's Essendon Airport.
