Fed: Imports soar 14.1 per cent in March: ABS

Interational merchandise imports soared 14.1 per cent in March .. to 14.5 billion dollars.

The Bureau of Stats says there were large increases in almost all categories last month
.. led by a 24.4 per cent surge in machinery and transport equipment .. which hit 6.3
billion dollars.

Imports were up 15.1 per cent on the same time last year.
