Fed: Sunglasses found after Patton's death, court told

A Norfolk Island court's been told .. broken sunglasses were found on the road where
JANELLE PATTON was allegedly abducted.

A police witness has told the trial of accused murderer GLENN MCNEILL .. the glasses
were discovered the morning after Ms PATTON's death.

The New Zealand chef has pleaded not guilty to murdering Ms PATTON on March 31 .. 2002.

The crown's alleged he abducted Ms PATTON .. possibly after hitting her with his car
.. as she took a morning walk along Rooty Hill Road.

Her bloodied body was found by tourists later that day in an island reserve.

Australian Federal Police Sergeant BRENDAN LINDSAY has told the Supreme court .. he
was stationed on Norfolk Island at the time and led the initial investigation.

Sergeant LINDSAY says the broken sunglasses were found during a search of Rooty Hill
Road .. the morning after Ms PATTON's death.

But he says they found no indications of a vehicle accident in the area.

The trial continues.
